Neds.com.au entered the market in October 2017 and have quickly grown to be one of the major players in the Australian online gambling industry.
Former Ladbrokes CEO Dean Shannon was behind the launch of Neds in 2017 and later went on to sell Neds to Ladbrokes Australia. Now both bookmakers fall under the Entain Group, which Dean Shannon is the CEO of the Australian business.
Despite Neds and Ladbrokes both being owned by Entain Group, they remain separate and Neds has it’s own identity and unique betting products.
Neds don’t shy away from what they do well and on their website they proclaim to be “passionate team of computer nerds, sports enthusiasts, statisticians, bookies and digital wizards” and upon using their website that experience certainly comes across.
Neds also claim to have the best horse racing from around the globe along with innovative products and thrilling promotions.
Why are Neds so popular?
It’s not hard to see why Neds have quickly built one of the biggest and most loyal customer bases in the industry. They’re constantly evolving and improving their products to make it one of the more enjoyable betting experiences available.
Neds also heavily market their website and apps, I’m not sure there would be to many Australians who haven’t heard of Neds thanks to their aggressive marketing.

Neds clearly focus on making the betting experience as flawless and easy as possible. The Neds website and app are brilliant in terms of functionality.
They’ve also developed some of the best betting products. The Neds Toolbox is packed full of useful tools for recreational punters. These can include Price boosts, Extra Head, Bet Backs, Back Ups and Fluc Ups.
Neds also offer In Play betting, allowing you to bet live on both racing and sport. Only a few other bookmakers offer this and it’s a great addition to the platform.
Why we don’t like Neds ❌
The only obvious disadvantage Neds have to Sportsbet and the TAB is that they offer very limited live streaming. Even Ladbrokes offer Victorian and South Australia thoroughbred racing.
Other than that it’s hard to find to many fault with Neds.
